The Customer Information and Product Warranty Tracking System (CIPWTS) project tracks the activities for off-grid renewable energy products in Ethiopia which promotes energy access in the rural areas of Ethiopia. The tracking system is developed for Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) to track the importing of solar products and provide the service to the customers effectively. CIPWTS Project consists of a Web portal, Android and USSD application. The Web portal provides end to end information about off-grid renewable energy products, service providers, customers, stakeholders, installations and product warranty tracking. Apart from the web portal, Android Mobile application and USSD based applications were developed to capture information by Micro technician about customers and customers can raise their complaints related to their solar products by using USSD application.
Under the project, tools were designed to conduct the MIS need assessment of 26 partnering MFIs of the Association of Ethiopian Microfinance institutes (AEMFI). The Future MIS needs of the institutions were taken into account in the assessment study in the areas of loan, deposit, insurance, customer and social performance and accounting. Various options were explored to accommodate the MIS needs of the MFIs considering current and future needs and recommended for alternative core-banking MIS solutions to implement in the context of Ethiopian MFIs.
KadaPoroman Microfinance Ltd (KPML) is one of the pioneer microfinance institutions in Kokopo region of Papua New Guinea. Through the project, System requirement study of KPML operations was conducted. Core Banking software, BankSoft was customized as per KPML’s requirement. Parameterization of application such as defining its loan products, deposit products, Standard Accounting System, common masters migration of all the existing data from existing excel/MS access based software to BankSoft was undertaken. BankSoft was implemented at all the branches and Head office of KPML. Extensive training and handholding support provided to KPML team. ATM interface was also implemented and ATMs were operationalised.
PNG Microfinance Ltd (PML) is one of the pioneer microfinance institutions in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Through the project System requirement study of PML operations were conducted. Comprehensive System Requirement Specification (SRS) document prepared. Core banking software BankSoft was customized as per PML’s requirement. BankSoft was implemented at all the branches and Head office. Extensive training and handholding support provided to PML team.
The project objective was to provide ERP Software to MFIs. A detailed feasibility study of clients operations both at back office and field offices was conducted for all MFIs. A comprehensive System Requirement Specification (SRS) document prepared. Client wise customization of Dephix product as per SRS was done. Migration of client’s data from the existing software/manual system to Delphix Nano, defining loan products, deposit products, Standard Accounting System and all common masters was undertaken. Implementation of MFI-banking software ‘DELPHIX Nano’ at all of its branches and head office was done. Followed by Extensive training to the clients MIS and field team on software usage, MIS reports, portfolio tracking methods, MIS analysis etc.
Under this project, ‘DELPHIX Nano’ an ERP product for Microfinance Institutions was designed and developed was implemented at 10 NGO- Microfinance Institutions in India. The NGO- MFIs are Agrocrat, Aparajita, ASRA, BMSS (BhartiyaMahilaSanchayika Sangha), NamanSewaSamiti, SakhiSewaSamiti, Samavesh, SEWA, Jan ChetnaManch, &LokPrerna
Under the project, computerized MIS was developed using Microsoft ASP.NET framework 4.0 Technology in C sharp Programming language supported by Oracle 10g database. ASP.NET is an open source web framework for building modern web apps and services with .NET, through this creating web application based on HTML5, CSS and JavaScript are simple, fast, and can literally scale up to an unlimited number of users.This application has several inbuilt modules that will help PSIG state users to store the details of grants and loans that have been disseminated to interested parties in A2F module. Data relating to PSIG Procurements, Policy advocacy grant, and Women Empowerment and Financial literacy (WEFL) indicators of MFIs, can be entered into MIS which will help in monthly monitoring of each MFI.
A study of the IT requirements of the bank was undertaken through extensive research of the Front-end and Back-end IT operations. BankSoft, the Core Banking solution was implemented for the bank operations. Alternative delivery channels were introduced to deepen its penetration of target market.
Under the project, Banksoft Core banking solution was implemented at Gapi SI and its 2 micro banks. A comprehensive System Requirement Specification (SRS) document prepared after assessing the needs and BankSoft was customized suitably. The data migration and parameterization of applications and rolling out of the installation and deployment of Banksoft in the entire network of 14 Branches and 2 Banks was done. The team of GAPI was trained in entire process of software product and empowered them to handle any task without external help.
Under the project, green field MFI, Alliance for Microfinance in Myanmar (AMFIM) was set up. Technical Assistance has been provided on various aspects such as capacity building, product designing, HR training, governance, pilot implementation etc. AMFIM selected BASIX as its IT Partner and selected ‘Banksoft’ as software product. The project involved conducting a comprehensive system requirement study, customizing the software according to specifications developed, install and implement and provide training to the staff in handing the software for operations.
Common Services Centres (CSCs) are ICT enabled front end service delivery points at the village level for delivery of Government, Financial, Social and Private Sector services in the areas of agriculture, health, education, entertainment, banking, insurance, pension, utility payments, etc. CSCs would provide high quality and cost-effective video, voice and data content and services, in the areas of e-governance, education, health, telemedicine, entertainment as well as other private services. CSCs offer web-enabled e-governance services in rural areas, including application forms, certificates, and utility payments such as electricity, telephone and water bills. A web portal was developed which was integratedwithMahaonline, Maharashtra state electricity board and Punjab state corporation portals to provide G2C services (Government to Citizen) from government to citizens. The portal was integrated with Cyber-plat to provide mobile and DTH recharges under the B2C (Business to Citizen) services. Virtual account Management system to manage wallets for transactions and Auto reconciliation process were implemented. Provided Dash Board and more than 50 reports for monitoring and management of operations.
Manus Savings & Loan Society Ltd (MSLSL) is a Savings and Loans society in Manus province of Papua New Guinea. Under the project, customized IT/MIS solutions at Manus Savings & Loan Society Ltd (MSLSL). And also supported for restructuring of operations and provided MSLSL with the required training and capacity building and the manuals for making them enable to continue the work in an effective manner.
Under the project, a through Gap Analysis of existing MIS system with regard to gaps in its ability to generate relevant information for effective management of the risk asset portfolio focusing on agriculture financing was conducted. Based on the current infrastructure available in Nepal and within NUBL way forward solution for going online version of MIS was provided. The contours of the MIS for Agriculture financing unit of NUBL were specified with suggestions for improvement.
